If your baggage has been lost, please contact your airline's handling agent. At Brussels Airport, Aviapartner and Alyzia are active as handling agents.

Search this list for the airline you were flying with and find all related data including baggage information.

Before leaving the reclaim area, go to the handling agent's desk to report the loss. The desks are located near belts 7 and 8 in the reclaim area.

Do you prefer to do this at home? The handling agent will explain how to find the online declaration form.

If you have lost something at our airport, you can contact the Lost & Found service of Brussels Airport.  Please fill in the on-line contact form

Report your lost item

You will be asked for a description of the lost item, as well as you contact details. As soon as we have found the item, we will contact you.

If you have found something at our airport, you can hand it over to the nearest airport staff member (airlines, handlers, security, airport crew or shop assistants).

This way we try to return it to its rightful owner.

The baggage handlers handle your baggage on behalf of the airline. It is, therefore, best to contact directly the handling agent of the airline you travelled with. At Brussels Airport, Aviapartner and Alyzia are active as handling agents.

Search this list for the airline you were flying with and find all related data, including baggage information.

If you notice the damage immediately when picking up your baggage, go directly to the desk of your airline's handling agent to report it. The desks are located near belts 7 and 8 in the reclaim area.

If you notice the damage only later, contact the handling agent's Lost & Found service as soon as possible.

Bad luck, but you may have accidentally taken a suitcase that is very similar. In this case too, it is best to contact the handling agent involved or the airline you travelled with.

Any lost identity card, passport or other official document that is found, is always brought in at the Lost & Found service of Brussels Airport.

Report your loss here, for us to be able to contact you when the item is found.

Report your lost item

However, you will need provisional documents for travel. For this, you will need to report the loss to the police.

If you find a passport, hand it over to a member of the airport staff as soon as possible (e.g. at the information desk on departures, at security screening or to one of the Airport Crew ) so that they can give it to the Lost & Found service of Brussels Airport.

We store all official documents for maximum 1 month, afterwards they are transferred to the Federal Police and it is not possible to recover them.

Depending on the situation, lost baggage can be sent back by the airline or the handling agent.

However, you may be asked to collect your lost or exchanged baggage yourself at the airport.  What do you need for this?

  • Until 14 hours after your journey, you can sign-up in the reclaim area with your identity card, boarding pass and baggage label. You received the luggage label when you checked in your luggage at departure.
  • If more than 14 hours have elapsed since you lost your luggage, you will also need the reference number of your declaration in order to return to the reclaim area. You received this number from the handling agent when you reported the loss.
  • During COVID-19, you will also need a printed personal document to gain access to the airport. This will be sent to you by e-mail.

With these documents, you register with the security agent at the entrance of the reclaim area on arrival level. After your documents have been checked, the security agent can grant you access to the baggage hall so that you can contact your airline's handling agent.

If you have received notification that your item has been found, you can come and collect it ( with an appointment ) or we can send your belonging to you.

We will keep you up-to-date with our search. 7 days after you have submitted your request, you will receive an e-mail from us with the status. We will repeat this after 14 days.

If we have not found your object after 30 days, we will unfortunately have to close the search. We will also let you know first by e-mail.

You can add additional information to your submitted inquiry at any time. You do not have to submit a new inquiry every time.

If you do not receive an e-mail, please check your spam folder before contacting us.

Usually you will arrive at your destination without any issues. However, sometimes things can go wrong. A flight might be cancelled or experience delay.
