All about your arrival at Brussels Airport

Welcome (back) to Belgium! You've landed, but what now? How do you get from the plane to baggage claim and out of the airport? We've outlined all the steps for a smooth arrival at Brussels Airport.

Step 1: Check the Brussels Airport app

As soon as you're allowed to, switch off the airplane mode and open the app. You'll immediately see the status of your baggage and the carousel you need. Handy for notifying your taxi or whoever is picking you up.

Step 2: Follow the 'Baggage Hall' signs

You can reach the gates via the bridge, platform or bus. From there it's easy: follow the 'Baggage Hall' signs and you'll soon find yourself in the baggage claim area.

Step 3: Smoothly pass through border control

If you’re arriving from outside the Schengen Area, you’ll stop by passport control before heading to the baggage hall. During busy times, the line might take a bit longer, but here’s a tip: if you have a chip-enabled EU passport, use the e-gates. They’re often quicker than the regular line. More about border control.

Step 4: Find your bags

Once you’re in the baggage hall, check the screens or the Brussels Airport app to find your assigned baggage carousel.

What if your luggage doesn’t show up? Fill out this form and visit your baggage handler’s information desk for assistance.

Step 5: Exiting the airport

  • Picking someone up? Park in P1 or P2, just opposite the terminal. Arrange to meet them in the arrivals hall.
  • Need a rental car? Car hire desks are located on the left hand side of the Arrivals Hall. Follow the signs to the 'Car Rental Parking' on level 0. Read more about car hire here

Taxis are available outside the Arrivals Hall. If you've pre-booked a taxi, your driver will meet you at the exit.

The train station is located below the terminal on level -1. Check the timetable and options here.

From intercity buses to hotel shuttles and public transport, you'll find all your bus options right outside the terminal. View routes and options here.
