As you may expect, running the airport is subject to special legal and regulatory obligations. All these obligations are included in the operating licence obtained by Brussels Airport Company. And since we work with many partners in a complex ecosystem, solid agreements must forge strong partnerships. Fortunately, we can count on our colleagues from Legal & Regulations for this. They support the various departments, so that our activities are in line with regulations. Good contract management, which ensures optimal cooperation with our partners, is also part of their job. Soon to be yours too?
We are growing rapidly, and all these developments involve a lot of legal rules and regulations. And who says complex legislation also says risks. Our lawyers use their knowledge and talents to understand and minimise those risks, thus optimising the value of Brussels Airport Company. They also advise on the drafting of all kinds of contracts for our internal departments, and assist in disputes or litigation.
The Regulations team monitors the economic regulations that specifically apply to Brussels Airport Company. They translate the different models into aeronautical charges, after consultations with the airlines. The further development of our airport activities can be financed in this way. This team also organises the selection procedures for the award of ground handling licences (currently Alyzia & Aviapartner) and monitors the obligations of all handlers. Finally, our contract management team records all agreements between Brussels Airport Company and other companies in a contract.
