This is where the beating heart of Brussels Airport Company is to be found. Our colleagues from Operations are responsible for very diverse activities: insuring smooth and safe operations, developing new routes and destinations as well as developing and maintaining well-functioning, sustainable assets and infrastructure at our airport. In this way we want to offer both airlines and travellers the best experience and improve our hub performance every day. Something for you?
Our Airport Operations team is literally in the middle of the action and among the aircraft, ensuring safety at the airport. For example, by keeping vehicles away from aircraft (and vice versa), and by guiding aircraft safely to their stand. Or by ensuring that the aprons remain tidy and the grass is mown, that the runways are free of ice and snow and that birds and wild animals do not endanger safety.
In addition, this team also draws up emergency plans for all possible scenarios: power outage, faulty flight information screens, etc. The operational nerve centre - where airlines, federal police, customs, baggage handlers and fire & rescue services physically work together side by side - is part of Airport Operations. Can you keep a cool head in an emergency? Then you may well find the challenging job that suits you here.
The status quo? Not at Brussels Airport Company. We are constantly looking for new opportunities for the airport. For example, we explore new routes and work with airlines, travel agents and tour operators to offer them to our passengers.
The colleagues in Asset Management are responsible for building and maintaining a very broad scope of assets, infrastructure and services. Think for instance of new aircraft stands, boarding bridges, the construction and renovation of buildings, reinforced electricity networks for the growing number of electric cars and so much more. In short, plenty of opportunities to challenge you every day!
Nowhere is security more important than at an airport. Everyone at Brussels Airport must therefore be fully aware of all our security rules. Our Security team - together with other partners - is responsible for the security of our travellers and employees. A vital job.
Call it our very own specialised fire brigade and ambulance service, unique in Belgium! Our local emergency centre monitors the (fire) safety of buildings and aircraft and provides technical assistance in the event of aviation incidents.
More than a thousand people work at Brussels Airport Company, and we work together with numerous other partners. It is therefore important that everyone is on the same page and has the same goal in mind. Our colleagues from the Compliance & Certification Unit therefore organise training (for example, for obtaining an airport driver's licence) and check whether companies active at the airport do what they say. Safety first.
