Eight months after the laying of the first stone, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is opening an ultra-modern logistics building of 8,700 m2 at Brussels Airport, developed by Montea. This new complex in the cargo zone of the airport is exemplary by its modern logistics infrastructure.
This 1st of February, Brussels Airport Company, WFS, and Montea inaugurated a new logistics building to the west of the airport’s cargo zone. Hence, Montea expands its offer of logistics warehouses in Belgium. This new infrastructure the construction of which started 8 months ago has a total surface area of 8,700 m2.
The new building is part of an ambitious development project within the cargo zone of Brussels Airport. On the west side, a 50,000 m2 building will be built in the coming months. In total, 100 million euros will be invested in the cargo zone over the next two years.
‘This new ultra-modern building developed with two of our most important partners is important for the Belgian logistics sector. It fits in perfectly with our strategy for the sustainable development of the logistics activities of Brussels Airport,’ explains Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company. ‘Brussels Airport once again confirms its role as a hub for logistics activities in Belgium and Europe. These developments allows us to support the many companies that increasingly use Brussels airport for importing and exporting goods to and from the entire world, and this in an even more efficient and effective manner.’
‘Montea has once again found a logistics solution for its client that enables a combination of increasing efficiency and future growth. With this new project in the Brussels Airport cargo zone, Montea confirms its exceptional real estate expertise in the field of air freight which allows it to work with the biggest players in this field,’ explains Peter Demuynck, CCO of Montea.
This ultra-modern site will offer WFS the possibility of giving new stimulus to the quality standards and demanding requirements for the treatment of specialised freight shipments. With its continuous growth and presence in 198 airports throughout the world, WFS is a long-standing partner of Brussels Airport.
Marc Claesen, Regional Vice President WFS Northern Europe: “For WFS, this new cutting-edge complex will allow us to continue to offer our clients efficient services with the best requirements in terms of safety and security while meeting the modern requirements of e-commerce and air transport of pharmaceutical products.”
