Stargate
The Stargate programme, launched in November 2021, is one of three Green Deal airport projects funded by the European Commission. With the overarching ambition to accelerate the greening of the European airport and aviation industry, Brussels Airport is leading the programme for five years and joins forces with no less than 21 partners. The goal is to set up more than 30 concrete projects that will focus on decarbonisation, the local environmental quality and the modal shift. Thanks to the development of a Digital Twin, innovative solutions can be simulated, adapted, and monitored.
Stargate is expected to inspire and transform the sector and will serve as a testbed for airports in other EU countries.
