During the Easter holiday, Brussels Airport is expecting over 1.1 million passengers. Sun destinations, city-trips within Europe, and holidays farther from home, such as to the United States and the Dominican Republic, remain very popular.
Over 1.1 million passengers will depart from or arrive at Brussels Airport between Friday 29 March and Sunday 14 April. That is a slight increase (about 25,000 passengers more) compared to the Easter holidays last year. Only pupils in Flemish education are free during this period. In the French-speaking schools, they do not have the two-week break until May.
During the Easter holiday, travellers at Brussels Airports will be able to choose from 160 direct destinations. Sun destinations, such as Spain and the Canary Islands, Portugal, the Cape Verde islands, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Egypt, Greece, and Turkey are very popular, and so too are city trips within Europe. Favourite intercontinental destinations are the United States, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
Spring and Easter vibes abound at the airport, with lots of floral decorations and unique selfie walls. You will find post boxes with QR codes at various places at the airport to create digital postcards and have them sent to your loved ones. There is also a stand in the terminal with postcards that the little ones can colour in to send a nice message to family and friends. From Wednesday 27 March to Monday 1 April, Easter bunnies will hand out Easter eggs after the security screening. Those looking for even more chocolate eggs can visit the Belgian Chocolate House. There you can find a full range of Easter eggs from the major Belgian chocolate brands such as Neuhaus, Godiva, Corné-Port Royal, Leonidas, etc.
A useful tip for any passenger is to activate flight notifications via the chatbot BRUce. This provides real-time information on waiting times at the security check, the number of your check-in desk and gate information, among others. People coming to the airport by car are advised to book a parking space online in advance. 700 charging points have recently been installed in the car parks to charge electric vehicles. The airport is also easily accessible by public transport. In addition, it is also advisable to check the hand luggage rules in advance for a smooth security check.
