The summer timetable has come into operation for flights to and from our airport. We have expanded our operations with 11 new destinations and have welcomed two new airlines, Cathay Pacific and Georgian Airways, to our airport. Our passengers can now choose from 211 direct destinations operated by 66 airlines.
New destinations
There are 11 new destinations with direct connections. Asia lovers are in luck, because since 20 March they can fly with Hainan Airlines to Shenzhen and the new flights to Shanghai will also be continuing this summer. Both flights are operated with a Boeing 787. On Sunday March 25, Cathay Pacific started a direct flight between Brussels and Hong Kong. The airline is deploying the high-technological Airbus A350 for this connection.
Those who enjoy the sun are well served by TUI fly, for the airline will be flying weekly from the end of June to sunny Aruba and Curaçao. Closer to home they are flying twice a week to Kavala and once a week to Lesbos, both in Greece.
Brussels Airlines also opts for the sun with a weekly flight to Kalamata in Greece and to Zadar in Croatia. Since 25 March Georgian Airways operates a two weekly service from our airport to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. This airline is also one of our new clients.
Additional flights
There are not only new destinations, there are also more flights on some existing routes. TUI fly will, for example, be flying twice a week to Valencia. The regional subsidiary of Air France, Hop!, offers a weekly flight to Calvi in Corsica. Sun Express is flying twice a week to Antalya. Iberia will be adding a fourth daily flight to Madrid and Qatar Airways will be operating a larger Boeing 777-300ER on its eight weekly flights to Doha.
