In 2018 we were delighted to welcome three new airlines to Brucargo, and this year is already off to a good start: Sichuan Airlines Cargo will bolster Brussels Airport’s cargo network as of this spring.
This Chinese traditional cargo airline operates from Chengdu Airport (China) and will fly to our airport as of April, making us the first European full cargo destination for Sichuan Airlines Cargo. Our strategic location in the heart of Europe and the ideal connections with the road network have certainly been decisive factors.
"Not only will the company be our first Chinese full cargo carrier, but it also connects with Chengdu airport, the new hub of SF Express, one of the main players in Chinese e-commerce. Sichuan Airlines thus strengthens our Chinese network in the centre of China but also our e-commerce strategy in the long term," according to Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company.
Brussels Airport is starting off 2019 in a great way with the arrival of Sichuan Airlines Cargo, whose presence is bound to attract other companies over the following months, strengthening Brussels Airport’s position as a logistics hub.
