During a digital information session organised as part of the public enquiry on Thursday 14 December, citizens will get answers to the most frequently asked questions.
In July, Brussels Airport Company submitted an application to renew the environmental permit to operate the airport. The current permit expires in July 2024.
The permit renewal application was examined by the Flemish authorities and declared complete and admissible. The ensuing public enquiry began on 10 December and will continue until 8 January, during which time citizens will be able to consult the file via the digital 'Omgevingsloket’ or at the municipalities of Zaventem, Machelen, Steenokkerzeel and Kortenberg and lodge an objection. During the same period, several public bodies will also be giving their advice on the permit renewal file.
As part of the public enquiry, Brussels Airport Company is organising a digital information session on Thursday 14 December at 6pm, during which experts will provide further explanations and answer frequently asked questions about the environmental permit application and the environmental impact assessment (EIA) that BAC had drawn up by independent experts.
