As of early March, the pavement on the Arrivals curb will be partly closed for renovation and beautification works. Staff who park on P27 will have to use the pavement along Passport and Gateway to go to the terminal.
The P5/P20 building and the adjacent courtyard date from 1958 and are in need of extensive renovation. As the pavement is also being renovated and a lot of work is being done in the courtyard itself, the pavement will be closed between the Protocol roundabout to the pedestrian crossing leading from FrontPark 3 to the terminal.
Anyone wanting to go from car park P27 to the terminal will have to use the pavement that runs alongside Passport and Gateway to access the terminal through the entrance near the Skyhall.
The closure of the pavement will be announced locally in advance.
The actual renovation and beautification works will start on 4 March and will take about a year. The renders already give a nice idea of what it should become.
It will no longer be possible to use the evacuation route via car park P20 to go from the Satellite to the train station as the stairway will be in the work zone. The evacuation route itself will remain in service. To this end, a double emergency door with panic bar will be provided in the construction site boarding.
