Sustainability: Deloitte adds 100 electric MINIs to its fleet
100 all-electric MINIs are now joining the Deloitte Belgium fleet, allowing the professional service provider to further reduce its carbon footprint.
In May 2017, Deloitte Belgium set up office in the heart of the Airport Business District (ABD), our business ecosystem. Occupying Gateway, a highly energy-efficient and BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certified building (1), has allowed the Belgian branch of the auditing and consultancy firm to reduce its environmental footprint of its offices by 40%.
In its sustainability plan, Deloitte Belgium has committed to reduce its carbon emissions by 25% by 2021. As its fleet makes up the majority of its total emissions, Deloitte has set up a sustainable mobility programme. Mobility @ Deloitte encourages the 4500-odd collaborators in Belgium to think about the means of transport that best meets their individual needs and to test more ecological alternatives: public transport (the Brussels Airport train station sits just beneath their feet), car-sharing, e-bike, hybrid car…
The structural integration of all-electric vehicles constitutes a logical next step in the plan. That’s how 100 MINI Electrics are joining the company’s fleet.
The addition of MINI Electrics to our fleet marks an important step in our efforts to transition to a greener fleet. Together we can reduce our emissions to contribute to a better and more sustainable future for all”, Piet Vandendriessche, CEO of Deloitte Belgium explained.
Only a tiny discrete ‘electric’ logo on the side fo the car, allows the car to be distinguished from the combustion engine model! Keep your eyes peeled!
