Brussels Airport's participation in the City Climate Challenge 303030 focuses on multimodality and modal shift, building on its open innovation ecosystem and expanding the successful co-creation with its key mobility partners.
City Climate Challenge 303030 is a private sector initiative. Its objective? To work towards an effective approach to climate-related issues by adopting a novel method of collaboration between the government, universities and citizens of the Brussels Region.
In partnership with BECI*, co-creator of the City Climate Challenge 303030, and other leading companies, such as the SNCB, Interparking and Tractebel, this forum aims to inspire and support the sustainable transformation of the city, public authorities and companies based in Brussels, through collaborative innovation.
In line with our strategic vision 2040, our airport's contribution to the City Climate Challenge 303030 hinges on connectivity. This is an ideal opportunity to ensure the availability of fast and efficient public transport between centres of economic growth, in this case the city and the airport.
One example is the process of aligning public transport timetables with airline schedules. Or to develop digital tools that allow public transport users to seamlessly combine the extensive urban transport networks with those of the airport. These innovations can make an important contribution to sustainable transformation, both in the city and in the different parts of our airport.
