In the event of a plane crash or other incident at the airport, uninjured passengers are looked after in the Passenger Reception Centre.
On 7 March, the new Passenger Reception Centre at Brussels Airport was officially opened. This reception centre accommodates passengers who remained uninjured in the event of an aircraft accident or other incident at the airport. The new PRC replaces the former reception centre in fire station West.
The new Passenger Reception Centre is centrally located where Connector and Topaz connect. The PRC is intended to receive uninjured passengers. Injured passengers continue to be received in fire station West.
The new centre was equipped with the necessary furniture to comfortably accommodate the passengers. It is easily accessible both airside and landside so the necessary help can be provided as soon as an accident or incident occurs.
The PRC is a room that we can immediately activate to assist our passengers at a time when they most need our help. Of course, it will also be possible to use the PRC in other emergency situations (mainly airside) which require a space to receive passengers and/or airport staff.
The PRC is a place where collaboration between Emergency Care Team volunteers, airlines and operation services is key.
It is also a place we hope to use as little as possible…
